Because Rapid RCM Solutions provides medical billing and related services, in certain cases we may handle protected health information (“PHI”) subject to the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). In those instances:

  • We act as a Business Associate (or similar) under HIPAA, and must comply with the applicable HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules in our agreements with covered entities (our clients).
  • We only use or disclose PHI as permitted under our agreements and HIPAA law (e.g. to carry out billing, claims processing, audits, reporting, or permitted purposes).
  • We adopt administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect PHI.
  • In case of a breach of unsecured PHI, we will notify the covered entity without unreasonable delay (and no later than applicable regulatory deadlines).
